NoHo(North of Houston Street) is a little bit difficult to define. The area is north of SoHo but NoHo is not quite the Soho and not quite the East Village either. The area is home to some university housing, but it´s also home to Screaming Mimi’s and Memes, cool Dave’s Quality Meat (that don´t sell a single piece of meat, but have become world famous for their stylish sneakers) and the legendary bookstore The Strand.
There are also some old school music venues and bars in NoHo, but mostly the area is known for its proximity to the university.
Everything is within walking distance of NoHo. The area is adjacent to Houston Street on the south side, West Broadway, Bowery Street to the east and Astor Place in the north.
