A vacant garage in SoHo has turned into a pop-u store and gallery concept. This is the latest United Colors of Benetton pop-up store.
Celebrating the ”Art of Knit and many other things the concept store is a bit of a wonderland with lots of fun.
Here you will find a world of knit, colors and creativity—the definitive story of the Benetton brand. The converted garage space is a vivid mix of retail, gallery and craft workshop knitted together by the creative minds of You Nguyen, the Creative Director and FABRICA, Benetton Group’s Communication Research Center.
Both the sweaters and the artwork come in a palette of 12 key colors ranging from magenta to mustard to sea-foam green. The standout pieces are sculptures from a collection called Lana Sutra by Cuban-born artist Erik Ravelo, who works out of Benetton’s FABRICA arts center. Each one involves a yarn-wrapped couple demonstrating a complicated embrace….

Earnest Sewn is modern denim emporium with two stores in New York – one in Meatpacking and the other one in Lower East Side.
This is such a fantastic brand. They have a huge commitment to doing one thing very well – making great products with denim. Each peace of Earnest Sewn is handcrafted to perfection in the United States.
They make vintage American style denim in an old-school workmanship way. Each pair ($180 and up) can take up to 18 hours to make, and boasts butt-boosting pockets, flattering seams and signature numbers stamped on the inside of its waistband.
When you are tired from your search of a new pair of jeans, take a break in the small bar in the back of the Washington St. store that serves complimentary tea, coffee, and soda.
