Earnest Sewn is modern denim emporium with two stores in New York – one in Meatpacking and the other one in Lower East Side.
This is such a fantastic brand. They have a huge commitment to doing one thing very well – making great products with denim. Each peace of Earnest Sewn is handcrafted to perfection in the United States.
They make vintage American style denim in an old-school workmanship way. Each pair ($180 and up) can take up to 18 hours to make, and boasts butt-boosting pockets, flattering seams and signature numbers stamped on the inside of its waistband.
When you are tired from your search of a new pair of jeans, take a break in the small bar in the back of the Washington St. store that serves complimentary tea, coffee, and soda.

Dear: Rivington + is one of our favorite stores in Lower East Side.
The cool, chic space of Dear: Rivington + is scattered with jewels, pearls, vintage shoes and vintage finds. Each piece has a story behind it, creating an inspiring shopping experience for home decorating.
In addition to selling its own line, the store carries vintage clothes in mint condition, especially ’80s and ’90s Japanese labels like Comme des Garçons, Yohji Yamamoto and Issey Miyake.

Kate’s Papier is a wonderful store in SoHo, where you can revel in notepads, funny postcards, nice gift wrap, stationery, hundreds of different paper, string, albums, stickers, paper shapes, pattern cutters and fun pens.
There is also a large assortment of things with a New York theme that you just have to take with you home.

REI is another chain that will open its first store in New York in the historic Puck Building on Lafayette Street. 39,000-square-foot on three-level where you will find a huge range of outdoor gear. They will open the store in SoHo on December 2.
