Edurado - the designer padToday we present Eduardo in our series with
New Yorkers.

What do you work with in New York?
Do you mean what I do in NY? if so, I’m an interior designer working mostly in residential design and staging.

For how long have you been living in New York?
13 years

How do you live in New York?
I live in a 500 square-feet, one bedroom apartment in the Upper West Side.

Why New York? (maybe a silly question….!)
Ever since I can remember, New York was the ultimate city in the US to live in. To me it was the most exciting place where anyone who had big dreams could make them come true. As a creative mind, its diversity, energy and visual stimulation all around keeps me going everyday.

Name 3 of you favorite places in New York
Picking only 3 favorite places in this city is quite hard. But if had to do so, here are my picks:
1. As an neighborhood, I love the East Village for its vibrancy, cool stores and varied cuisine. It’s one of the few places in the city that you can still feel the essence of hip New York.

2. Here one can find great treasures everywhere, but one of the best places for me is the Antiques Garage, a flea market in 25th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues. I go there often in search of that unexpected piece for my projects.

3. As for places to grab a bite, there are plenty good ones, but Public (in Nolita) is the one I tend to go back all the time.

What do you love to do in New York when you don´t work?
Fortunately, New York is a place where you can do everything you want and more. As a theater aficionado, every chance I get, you will see me Broadway bound. Sunday brunches with friends are a must, but simply strolling through the city is plenty of entertainment for me.

Mention something weird that you have experience in New York
Trust me, I have seen plenty of weird things in this city, especially in the subway. But one that I vividly remember, and makes me smile every time it comes to mind, is walking down the pitch-black street of my neighborhood the night of the last blackout, and seeing a guy covered from head to toe with blinking Christmas lights just wondering around. That made my night.

What is the best with New York?
New York is a melting pot of cultures, what makes it quite unique. But after living in different places in the U.S., one thing I heart about the Big Apple is that is truly the city that never sleeps. If you find yourself craving a scoop of your favorite ice cream at 3 am, all you have to do is walk to the corner deli and get it. That is hard to find anywhere else.

Describe New York with 3 words
